Welcome! In this portfolio I intend to share my relationship with the Spanish language.

I am a firm believer that learning to speak and read Spanish is an integral part of professional development. With the amount of Spanish speakers in the United States today it is important that we learn to communicate affectively with one another.
As a Finance major with goals of working in either auditing or tax consulting it is important for me to know Spanish to create meaningful relationships with my clientele.

I have always wanted to learn Spanish, and recently I have developed a new appreciation for the language. My best friend recently married someone whose first language is Spanish. I watched her struggle to adjust to the English language and thought it would be unfair of me to expect her to be the only person in our friendship to bridge the gap of the language barrier. She has patiently helped me struggle through pronunciation of several words and is always excited to hear me try to communicate with her in the first language.

About

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Texas where there are a lot of native Spanish speakers, but I never learned how to speak fluently with them. As I grew up I came to appreciate multi-lingual people for their hard work and willingness to stick to learning a new language. I aim to become proficient in speaking Spanish not only for professional reasons, but personal as well. For example, I have family that owns property in Honduras and would love to be able to socialize with the locals.
